Idaho Ice World

Dive into the world of water and climate science and learn how you can help protect and conserve our resources through indoor and outdoor exhibits. The education center contains more than 15 hands-on exhibits, a library and theater. The 2-acre park-like River Campus features a simulated river where kids can splash and get wet.

New Exhibits Coming in Summer 2024

The WaterShed is transforming into the nation's first climate and water science center!  The all-ages, hands-on exhibits will explore themes of our changing watershed and how you can take action to help make our community more resilient to the effects of climate change.

The WaterShed exhibit hall and outdoor River Campus will be closed to the public August 23, 2023 through late June 2024 for exhibit installation.  We will be sharing our progress on social media and we hope you'll follow along.

During the closure, we will be offering limited programming, including:

  1. On-site K-12 lessons – select outdoor lessons will be available in Fall and Spring.
  2. Educational outreach lessons – choose from our menu of lessons available to schools in Boise, Garden City, Eagle and Meridian.
  3. Tour Tuesdays – Tour the West Boise Water Renewal Facility on the first Tuesday of each month.
  4. Homeschool Days – Outdoor off-site excursions for homeschool students.
  5. Teacher Workshops – the NASA Earth-to-Sky Workshop and Project WET workshops will be offered off-site.
  6. Models and Kits – available for free check-out to use in your classroom or home school.
