Homeschool Day: City Nature Challenge

Location: The WaterShed

Help document nature in the city with us by joining the City Nature Challenge! Free program for home school families open to all ages, with a focus on programming for 5-12 year olds. Walk around the ponds at the WaterShed and the river learning about local ecology while participating in the City Nature Challenge. The City Nature Challenge is an international event to document wildlife in your own city!

Stop by our learning stations to explore the importance of biodiversity and how to use iNaturalist before you leave on walk to document local organisms. Walk along the Boise River and WaterShed ponds learning about local ecology while participating in the City Nature Challenge.

Dress for the weather; path is uneven dirt/gravel and trail is 1.5 mile roundtrip. Jogging strollers allowed. No dogs, except service animals allowed.

Optional but encouraged: participants may want to download the free iNaturalist app on a device prior to the hike.

Please reserve tickets for all adults and youth participating in this event. Choose a time slot and register, tickets will be available a month before the event
