---

Please join OUTdoors Idaho, in partnership with Big Gal Backpackers Boise, for an easy/beginner hike on Lydle Gulch Trail. This LGBTQ-only event is size inclusive and great for people who enjoy shorter, gentler trails. It's an opportunity for Boise-area folks to spend time outdoors and build community in a safe and inclusive space.

We will also be learning about our watershed and steps we can take to conserve water and improve water quality from Jenny Wolf of the Boise Watershed.

What to expect:

5:30 p.m. | Meet at the Lydle Gulch Trailhead, eat a sandwich dinner together
5:45 p.m. | Pre-hike meeting going over event info; begin learning about the Boise Watershed
6:00 p.m. | Hike Lydle Gulch Trail. We will stop at two locations to learn more from Jenny about the watershed and water conservation.
8:00 p.m. | Event concludes

Level: Easy

More about difficulty, skill level, and safety
This outing is open to people of all experience levels and will be intentionally paced to support everyone in the group, including beginners and folks who need to take it slower. Our trip leaders will carry a full first aid kit along with extra water.

The hike will be 2 miles total with 282 feet of elevation gain. The incine is very gradual throughout most of the trail, though one very small section where we go to overlook Lucky Peak Reservoir is a bit steep, and we'll take it very slow. This is an easy walk and we never leave anyone behind! We will go at a leisurely pace and take at least two breaks while we learn more about the watershed and water conservation.

Please reach out if you have any questions about the difficulty level of the route or what to expect!
